NCT06064890 · Phase 1 · RECRUITING

A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Effect of AVB-101, a Gene Therapy Product, in Subjects With a Genetic Sub-type of Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD-GRN)

This Phase 1 trial is testing AVB-101, a gene therapy delivered directly into the brain through a surgical procedure. It targets a specific inherited form of frontotemporal dementia caused by mutations in the GRN gene, which causes low progranulin protein levels and neuron death. Phase 1 means the focus is on safety first. Researchers also want to see if one treatment can restore progranulin to normal levels. There is no placebo — everyone receives the treatment.
