NCT06419257 · RECRUITING

Investigating the Efficacy of an Augmented Virtual Reality Driving Simulator on Institutionalized Dementia Patients

This trial tests a virtual reality driving simulator, installed in a car at a Canadian dementia care home, for people with advanced dementia. Researchers look at mood, using nurses' free-form observations, and at driving scores that may hint at implicit memory. It is not a drug phase, so there is no phase rating. It is an early, small, practical test.

You may qualify if

  • Living in a dementia care unit of Riverview Health Center
  • Being mobile and able to see.

You're excluded if

  • Residents with significant mobility issues (wheelchair users) and those with significant visual impairment will be excluded.
